Foreign Coaches Taking Over
Did anyone ever stop to think that the reason there are so many foreign imports in to the Premiership isn't because the system doesn't favour homegrown players, but because Premiership clubs seem don't seem to favour homegrown managers. The top clubs, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs have managers hailing from Scotland, Portugal, France, Spain and Holland. For an English league there are very few English managers. Newcastle ar the highest profile club with an English manager in charge, Sam Allardyce. After that it's Middlesborough and Southgate. Then after that again it's Bolton, Wigan and Birmingham. Three quarters of the leagues clubs have foreign managers, so no wonder they favour bringing in foreign players, it would be only natural for them. England's footballing infrastructure needs to be looked at as to how they are coaching their coaches, because right now, there doesn't seem to be very many around.
